Role: Payroll Specialist (Part-Time)
Salary: Β£28,000-Β£33,000 per annum FTE
Hours:Β 10 days a month, half days = 35 hours per month

As our new Payroll Specialist, youβll be at the core of our client payroll operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly and accurately during the last 10 working days of each month. The Payroll Specialist plays a pivotal role in our team, managing and processing payroll for a portfolio of clients, primarily focusing on the last two weeks of each calendar month. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, a solid understanding of payroll regulations, proficiency in using the BrightPay system, and the ability to handle sensitive information with utmost confidentiality and professionalism. The Payroll Specialist will also engage closely with clients to gather necessary payroll information.
What You'll Do:

Process monthly payrolls (end-to-end) accurately and punctually, ensuring strict adherence to all deadlines.

Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and contractual obligations throughout all payroll operations.

Manage incoming and outgoing client communications via phone, email, or web chat regarding payroll inquiries and issues.

Calculate benefits, prepare P11Ds & PSAs, and submit them to HMRC as required.

Assist in the setup of new PAYE schemes and oversee smooth payroll transitions.

Establish pension schemes as needed and handle all Auto Enrolment queries proficiently.
β
Liaise with HMRC to address any PAYE-related queries promptly and effectively.

Process P45s and contribute to the year-end process by providing accurate P60s to client employees.

Identify opportunities for enhancing our payroll service offerings and actively contribute to their implementation.
β
Fulfill other related duties as assigned by the Head of Operations.
What Weβre Looking For:
πΉ Minimum of 3 years in end-to-end payroll processing and auto-enrolment administration, ideally in a multi-payroll environment or professional practice.
πΉ Proficiency in BrightPay payroll software is essential.
πΉ Relevant payroll certifications (e.g., CIPP) preferred but not essential.
πΉ Exceptional organisational and prioritisation skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines while maintaining high accuracy.
πΉ Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently, taking initiative to resolve issues and achieve objectives.
πΉ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong customer service orientation and the ability to build effective relationships with clients who may not have high technical knowledge.
πΉ CIS Tax knowledge (preferably, but not essential).
